2017 is the year of “Double-Spring Leap in June”. That is, the Lunar year will have two spring. Furthermore, there are difference of 11 days between Lunar and Solar calendar, in order to adjust the daily calendar of Lunar and Solar, so every three years must have a “Leap” month. According to the calculation of the current calendar, there must be a “Leap” month in Double-Spring year. What is “Double-Spring and Leap Month”?
“Double-Spring and Leap Month” means that there are two spring and a leap month in a year.

According to the moon around the earth, the new moon is the first day of the Lunar year, full moon is between the month of fourteen to seventeen. That means, there have 29 or 30 days in a month, and 354 days a year.

Solar calendar is the earth around the sun revolution a week, that is 365 days a year, which is also close to the four seasons cycle time.

As the 354 days of Lunar calendar and 365 days of the Solar calendar gap of 11 days, so every three years need to add a “Leap” month in Lunar calendar, so that the Solar calendar will close to the four seasons weather. Thus, the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year will in the early spring season.

There is 384 days in the Lunar year with a “Leap” month. The first month of the year and the last month will contain “spring” solar terms, the so-called “DoubleSpring.”
In accordance with the current calendar calculation, there is a “Leap” month of the year must have a Double-Spring, so “Double-Spring and Leap Month” meet every three years, every 19 years there will be 7 years Double-Spring, 7 years without Double-Spring.
